The organisers are volunteers, who give all their time and energy for free to deliver an extravaganza of music, sports and other events and entertainment for the town. Spurred on by the support you give us, please take a moment during the week to thank those, without who, this event would not be possible.

The Carnival dates back to the 1950s and has grown to the spectacle that was seen in 2022 with crowds of up to 2,000 people a night enjoying the festivities, including many sell-out events like The Golf Day, Opening Night Party, Carnival Corporate Night, and One Night of Queen. It takes around 18 months to plan and deliver the 8 Day Weekend with many other organisations and businesses contributing to the overall success; be it the Saffron Walden Town Council who permit the use of the Common and Town Hall, other Charitable groups such as Saffron Walden Rotary Club, Saffron Walden 41 Club & the huge number of volunteers and our Honorary members who between them have years of experience and knowledge and join us in dedicating their free time to help put the event on.
