8DayWeekend is Back with a Bang!!

Saffron Walden Round Table are pleased to announce the return of 8DayWeekend Carnival to Saffron Walden between the 8th and 16th July 2022. The 8-day / 9-night extravaganza will be back on the Common boasting a packed schedule of headline music, family entertainment, corporate hospitality and a host of fun-packed events for the local community.

Carnival committee member James Cleaver commented “at last we can confirm what the people of Saffron Walden have long been waiting for – the 8DayWeekend is back this summer and our ticket office is officially open! A lot of hard work has gone into organising a blockbuster event and the members of Saffron Walden Round Table look forward to hosting what promises to be the biggest Carnival the town has ever seen”

Originally scheduled for July 2020, the 8DayWeekend was postponed two years running due to the coronavirus restrictions. But for Carnival Chairman and current committee member Nick Head this just heightens the fun level to come: “We are so pleased the majority of our most popular acts scheduled for 2020 are able to perform this summer – including our sell-out One Night of Queen event and other performers in high demand. We have had to re-jig a few plans but our line-up for July 2022 is a knockout each night, combining local talent and chart-topping performers. We have upped the ante this year to meet the entertainment demands of the town!!”

The online ticket office has reopened at  www.8DayWeekend.co.uk – tickets already purchased for 2020 are in the process of being reissued and our schedule of confirmed acts is now available. “Book early to avoid disappointment” cautioned Carnival Committee member Stephen Woodard. “We have been blown away with the level of demand for tickets and the whole town feels excited that 8DayWeekend is back. We are thrilled to provide an event for the whole of Saffron Walden and cater for a wide array of musical and entertainment tastes”

The 8DayWeekend is traditionally held in the town every three years and is run by Saffron Walden Round Table – an enthusiastic group of local volunteers. Being a charity, every penny of profit raised by Carnival and all other Round Table events is donated back into the community. Profitable proceeds from the 8DayWeekend 2017 exceeded £80,000 which is making a big difference in the community today, supporting local groups, clubs, community projects, future Olympians and worthy local causes.
