Carnival Procession

SATURDAY 5TH JULY 2025

The Carnival procession has been a key event ever since the very first Carnival over 50 years ago and is the 2nd largest non-funded procession in the country.  Rumour has it that the procession can be seen from space, although we have yet to verify that!

Every Carnival the town comes together with over 10,000 people taking to the streets as local companies, clubs, friends and families get creative to build their float that follows the procession route around Saffron Walden.

The Carnival procession will take place on Saturday 5th July 2025,

Expect a colourful and vibrant trip down memory lane from Tizwaz to Harry Potter, Batman to Teletubbies, Barbie to Transformers as the Carnival Procession theme for 2025 will be Kids Entertainment.

If a float isn’t for you, then you can still get involved by volunteering to help on during the 8 Day Weekend here.
