1278 – the number of days since we first voted on a Carnival Chairman to closing the doors on Saturday 16th July 2022. All those days to delivery one amazing 8 Day Weekend!!
It’s been a journey for a lot of us at Saffron Walden Round Table, but was so amazing to finally see the community and the local area join us for what was the most historic and record setting 8 Day Weekend in Carnival History.
We are a group of 21 men, who are financially liable for this event. However without the support of the below we wouldn’t be able to put on this mammoth event
Thank You to Carnival Honourees, SWRT 41 Club, Volunteers, The Diamonds, 3D Events, Carnival Partners, Sponsors, St John Ambulance, Essex Police, Saffron Walden Fire Station, Saffron Walden Town Council & Tourist Information Centre, Uttlesford District Council, Andrew Arnold, Chris Sawyers, Hayley Smith, Saffron Building Society, Shara, Katie and the Tela team, Saffron Walden Rotary, KH Construction, Countrywide Grounds Maintenance, Saffron Walden Golf Club, Burton’s Butchers, Martin David Porter, Celia Bartlett, Karen & the Walden Local team, Hashtag Creative Media, Howard Kenzie and his team, Huws Gray Ridgeons Saffron Walden, Widdington Recycle. Finally to everyone that bought a ticket, shared a post or put money in a donation bucket. Thankyou for supporting our events, we love to put on incredible things for this amazing community to raise funds for local causes and it’s you that helps us do that! You can still donate to us here www.swrt.org/donate. All profits made go back into the community to help those in need.
We are taking a well earned break now, but SWRT will return on Saturday 5th November for the Annual Firework display. 8 Day Weekend will return in July 2025, until then, thank you!!!
