Carnival Community Heroes

Carnival to Recognise Community Heroes

Do you go the extra mile or do you know someone who goes above and beyond for the benefit of the local community?

This year’s 8 Day Weekend will recognise individuals who, like Round Table, give back to the community in which we live.

In partnership with Volunteer Uttlesford, Saffron Walden Mayor, Essex Police, Essex Fire & Rescue Service, Saffron
Walden County High School and the Walden Local, we are seeking applications from individuals with at least 12 months consistent community support.

There will be 4 winners; one male and one female from each of two age groups – 12-20 years old and 21 years plus.

Winners will be selected by an independent panel. They will be honoured with a seat in one of the lead cars in the Carnival Procession on Saturday 11th July, and revel in the thousands of people lining the streets to cheer on the procession floats.

In addition, winners will receive a certificate from the Mayor, a photo in the Walden Local and be
invited to become a Volunteer Uttlesford Ambassador for the next 12 months, attending special
events.

Our final panel will include members from the below:

  • Volunteer Uttlesford
  • Saffron Walden Mayor
  • Essex Police
  • Essex Fire & Rescue Service
  • Saffron Walden County High School Sixth Form
  • Saffron Walden Round Table
  • Walden Local

More details and applications can be submitted via the form below. The closing date is 20th April 2020. Winners will be notified in June.
