Today’s Throwback Thursday follows Heather Small, an English soul singer who was the lead singer in the band M People and later became a solo artist. Her debut solo album was Proud, released in 2000.

Back on 13th September 1993, M People release the song ‘Moving On Up’ and was the second single from their second album, Elegant Slumming

The song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and was the biggest selling M People single. The song also became a Top 40 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, and number one on the Billboard dance chart.

Heather Small – The Voice Of M People was a headline act at 8 Day Weekend 2014 and gave the crowd a great show with material from her solo & M People catalogue.
